Buy this wine because we love a happy accident! The year was 1994 - and with a savagely hot summer the sugar in the grapes rose faster than they could be harvested and the Cap Classique planned was looking unlikely. However, founder, Achim von Arnim, vinified the grapes anyway to see what became of them - and it was magic. South Africa's first Chardonnay Pinot Noir was forged out of skill and ingenuity in the face of a challenge and became a smashing success with critics and wine lovers alike.
It pairs great with grilled seafood, roast chicken, creamy risotto, or soft cheeses - basically anything comforting and full of flavour
