Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hospitality environment and takes pride in food preparation, presentation, cleanliness, and delivering a consistently high-quality customer experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare cold platters, small plates and snacks across a small, carefully curated menu, ensuring consistently high-quality presentation.
- Maintain effective stock rotation procedures to ensure food items remain fresh, safe and of excellent quality.
- Follow date dotting procedures to monitor shelf life, minimise waste and support food safety standards.
- Carry out and document temperature checks for deliveries and fridges, and follow allergen procedures accurately at all times.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, following all health, hygiene and food safety protocols.
Person Specification - Friendly, customer-focused and professional in approach.
- At least one year of experience in food preparation, storage and presentation, with a strong understanding of health and hygiene standards and allergen compliance.
- Passionate about hospitality and keen to learn within a supportive team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in stock management, food handling and presentation.
- Familiarity with licensing laws and responsible alcohol service would be advantageous.
- Available to work day time/evenings and weekends as required by the needs of the business.
Working Pattern and Benefits
Job type: Full-time (30-35 hours per week). Daytime & weekend availability essential
Hourly pay: £12.80, paid weekly
