An opportunity has arisen at our flagship Union Terrace venue:
and we are seeking an experienced and professional Bar Manager
to oversee our daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a
welcoming atmosphere.
The ideal candidate will possess a great love of wine, demonstrable leadership
skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to train and manage a team
effectively.
This role is essential in delivering the licensing objectives and licensing
parameters within the operation plan, the highest standards of food safety and
quality and also in fostering a positive company culture for both the team and
guests.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead and manage the bar team, providing mentorship, guidance and
support to ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee the preparation and serving of all products, ensuring adherence
to recipes, service procedures and presentation standards.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering welcoming
hospitality service and addressing any issues promptly.
• Supervise daily bar operations, including stock ordering and management,
ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and reporting any
maintenance issues.
• Liaise with the management team on on site and off site event operations
• Nimbly adapt to change effectively and smoothly
• Communicate with kitchen team to ensure seamless service during busy
periods.
• Implement and enforce food safety regulations and best practices within
the venue.
• Train new staff on wine service etiquette, sales techniques, customer
service skills, and health & safety protocols. Record all training in personal
folders
• Develop menus that align with current trends while considering customer
preferences.
• Report to the management team and owners regularly
Experience
• 3 years proven experience in a bar management role or within the wine
industry
• Impeccable organisational skills with a comprehensive knowledge of the
hospitality business
• Demonstrable ability in team management, fostering a collaborative
environment among team members, managers and owners.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen operations.
• Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a
diverse team.
• Strong eye for attention to detail in all areas of the business

Pay: £35,000.00 per year

Education:
Minimum Certificate of Higher Education (required); HND or BA expected
Experience:
Minimum Bar management: 3 years (required)
