Buy this wine because this is the Hartenberg flagship wine and long-standing SA Syrah classic. From a unique gravelly site on the farm, Carl has created a wine with distinct difference in character and quality. On the bouquet umami, Karoo shrub, wood spice, violets and perfumed notes. The palate shows beautiful elegance with layers of black and red fruits. The wine ends with a vein of fine-grained tannins, so typical of this site.
It pairs great with roasted game dishes, rack of lamb, rare sirloin steak, roasted vegetables, stilton
